ROUNDWOOD DELL CAMPSITE
Roundwood Dell campsite opened in the grounds of Roundwood in 2022. It markets itself as a ‘small site with big ideas’ as there are not many sites of this size that can boast the facilities of Roundwood Dell.
It is open to the public to book pitches throughout the May half term holiday and the long school summer holidays. For the remainder of the year it is available for private hire for school groups; Duke of Edinburgh expeditions; hen/stag parties looking for a tranquil break; Corporate team building events etc. If you’re looking for a site to hold an event, why not get in touch with a a member of our Events Team to discuss your ideas.
THE DELL & THE GLADE
The Dell is the larger of the 2 camping areas. There are 10 pitches available for hire and pitch allocation will be determined upon arrival. The Dell, as its name implies, is situated within a dell in the grounds.
There is no access for cars and so all equipment will need to be carried from the car park down to the pitches (and up again at the end of the week). We have an electric gator-style vehicle to help you with your equipment on arrival and departure.
The Dell is accessed via a slope or steps and so is not suitable for campers with mobility difficulties. There are 2 composting sit-down urinals on The Dell – our main toilet and shower block is found on The Glade.
The Glade is the smaller of the 2 camping areas. There are 4 grass pitches and 3 hard-standing pitches suitable for tents or small campervans. It is next to the car park and is easily accessible and suitable for guests with mobility difficulties. It is also close to the toilet/shower block. Our toilet and shower block is fully accessible with ramped access and a shower room that meets the Doc-M regulations.
All pitches have 16A EHU and most have water. They will be allocated on arrival although if you have a particular pitch that you would like to stay on, please let us know in your booking notes and we will do our best to accommodate these.
We accept campervans and motorhomes 7m or under in length. These are allocated to pitches are fully gravel based. Please note that we do not have any facilities to dispose of chemical waste or grey water waste. We are unable to accept caravans or motorhomes over 7m in length due to the available turning circles both as you enter the site and within the site itself.
